FUN Holiday Respite Club
FUN Holiday Respite Club has been created for our members to access during school holidays. Families have consistently expressed the need for more short break services (respite) during school holidays.
FUN Holiday Respite Club is a short breaks service designed for young people with disabilities and/or additional needs aged from 9 to 17 years.
The FUN Holiday Respite Club runs for one session each week during every school holiday and will be based at our Activity Centre in Luton. It will provide opportunities for the young people to spend time with their peers whilst being supported by FUN staff; allowing their families to take a break from their usual caring responsibilities.
Before attending, each young person will be assessed to determine what the appropriate level of support is for them at the club.
The young people will remain onsite at our Activity Centre during the sessions and will have access to all of the equipment and resources that our Centre offers. They will also participate in other activities onsite that aim to promote their independence, social skills and self-confidence.
Each session will run from 10am to 4pm. This is a full respite service, so parents and carers are not required to remain with their young people.

Sessions cost just £20 for all Luton families.
For families living outside of Luton each session will cost £90 – please see below, or contact the office for more information.
Sessions must be pre-booked and paid for in advance.
Assistance with payments:
If you would like to access this service and you are not a resident of Luton Borough, we would urge you to speak with your social worker to see if your local authority can assist with the cost of your young person attending the club.
Central Bedfordshire Families:
If your child does not have a social worker, or has not had an assessment for short break services, you will need to contact the Children with Disabilities Team on 0300 300 8314 or email email@example.com, to request an assessment. If your child meets the Council’s eligibility criteria, you can then discuss funding for the FUN Holiday Respite Club with your social worker.
