Official Opening of FUN Activity Centre
On Saturday 11th June, the official opening of FUN Activity Centre was opened by His Grace the Duke of Bedford. It was a great day for everyone that has supported to come along and see what FUN has to offer children and young people with disabilities.
Due to having over 350 families on our database we had to pull names out of a hat for invites to be distributed to members.
In August 2015 FUN acquired their own building to run services from, based at Unit 5 Britannia Estates, Leagrave Road, Luton. LU3 1RJ.
Since moving into the premises the FUN team have worked hard to raise funds to completely renovate the building to a high standard ensuring that the facilities were offering full disabled access. All exterior and internal doors have been widened for wheelchair access; overhead hoists have been installed within the disabled changing room and the sensory room. The main activity hall has been divided up to ensure that there are various different activities on offer for all to access. The FUN team are proud of what they have achieved in a short time and this would never have happened without the support from the local community, members, donors, funders and the board of trustees visitors included The Bishop of Bedford and The Mayor of Luton.
