10 Years Service
On the 4th June 2017, Diane Rhodes – Operations Manager hit the 10 years service mark. Diane joined the charity as a member in 2004, with her son who lives with Autism, Severe Learning Difficulties and a few other difficulties. In 2007 Families United Network was looking for a part time administrator to work 12 hours a week, to support 2 other members of staff that were currently working then.
As a small team it was paramount that each member of staff was able to jump into a range of duties to ensure that services were run to high standard, looking for venues, organising trips and meeting with funders.
Diane has seen the charity grow significantly over the past 10 years. Diane said “Working for Families United Network has been both rewarding and challenging. We are supporting so many young people with differing needs and it is important for us as a charity to meet the needs of all our members. As the saying goes one shoe does not fit all, so we are always looking to adapt what we are able to offer families. Our respite services which is the latest addition to the vast services we provide has been a life saver for so many. I have enjoyed every element of my job over the past 10 years and I have grown and developed my skills in line with the charities needs. Seeing and working with our members is very rewarding. Over the 10 years our staff levels have increased to help with the demand on services, everyone that works for FUN always give 100% and each person is passionate about the work and support given to Families United Network members.”
Families United Network continues to grow with the growing need of our members. FUN is always one step ahead looking for new ways to help families. If you have any ideas for activities, fundraising or anything else then please do contact the office on: 01582 420800.
