Coronavirus Updates

You will notice that we have now added an area for all Coronavirus updates.

In this area we will update our members on up-to-date government advice, tips for keeping your families safe, activities to keep the children entertained with their own area to help you explain what is happening and what they can do to protect themselves.

This area will be updated regularly and we welcome any suggestions our members would have. What would you like to see? What questions do you have? Feel free to leave comments on our Facebook page.

Member Update – Cancellation of Services until 20th April 2020

Dear Members,

Following our Trustees meeting last night, it is with huge regret that we have to inform you that we will not be able to open any services until 20th April 2020.  This includes all of our evening clubs, respite clubs, and our Easter Holiday Club that is now cancelled.

Given the government’s latest advice, we have no choice but to take this action in order to avoid all social contact, slow the spread of the virus and protect the most vulnerable amongst us.

We are very aware of how much our members rely on our services, particularly when schools are closed.  Please be assured that we considered every possible option and did not come to this decision lightly.

We are reviewing the situation constantly and we will send further information about services beyond 20th April within the next few weeks as the situation evolves.

We will be opening bookings for our June respite sessions tomorrow (25th) as normal, in the hopes that these services will be able to go ahead – but this will be confirmed nearer the time. Unfortunately, we will not be able to take cash payments for the next few weeks, so payments for June respite clubs will need to either be paid online via our website or via bank transfer.

All members who have booked and paid for services between now and the 20th April will receive a full refund.

Our office will be closed for the next few weeks, but we will still be taking telephone calls and answering emails.  Please bear with us if you are calling to make bookings for June respite services as we will likely have only one line operating.  If you need to renew your membership, please email or post your renewal forms to us at the usual address.

Many thanks & Kind regards

The FUN Team

We Need Your Feedback!

Please Please Please give us your feedback!

Please get in touch with the FUN Team with regards to your feelings, thoughts and ideas after the announcement from the government regarding school closures.

We need your feedback in order to evaluate the level of need for support that our members may have over the coming weeks and months. We are reviewing the developing situation on a daily basis, and we are very mindful of the difficulties that our members are likely to face. We will be looking at our existing services to determine whether there is any way that we can still provide some level of support to our members at this time. We would appreciate any feedback from our members about how likely you would be to continue to use our existing services if they remained in place.

Please comment on our Facebook page, Call the office on 01582 420800 or email us at: Info@familiesunitednetwork.org.uk

Many thanks

Cancellation of FUN Services until 31st March 2020

MEMBERS UPDATE

As an organisation we are regularly monitoring updates from the Government to ensure that we are operating within their advised guidelines.  In this interim period of uncertainty with many public gatherings and public services closing, the decision has been made as a precautionary measure to cancel all FUN services until the 31st March 2020.

This will affect the following services:

Youth Club – Monday 23rd March and Monday 30th March 2020

Young Adult Club – Tuesday 24th March and Tuesday 31st March 2020

Saturday Club (Respite Care) – Saturday 28th March 2020.

For any services that have already been booked and paid for, we will be providing a full refund and this will be processed within the next few days.   Any members who have paid in cash at our office are welcome to come to the office for a cash refund, or can email their bank details to allow us to process a bank transfer.

Management staff are meeting with the Board of Trustees on Monday 23rd March 2020 to review measures on future services from 1st April 2020.

We encourage all our members to look for updates on our Facebook page and website and will also be updating members on our current status via email before the 1st April 2020.

As a Charity, we are hoping to reinstate services as soon as possible to reduce the strain that a lack of services will cause to many of our families.  We are mindful of the challenges that our members must be facing at this time and thank you for your patience and support over the next couple of weeks.

Kindest Regards

COVID-19 UPDATE

Dear Members,

With concern rising about the global outbreak of Covid-19, and following yesterday’s advice from the government, we will now be taking some initial steps at FUN to safeguard our staff and members.  Although the outbreak in the UK is still relatively contained, we need to take some proactive actions to ensure that we are doing all that we can to slow the spread of the virus.

Respite Services – Saturday Club, Holiday Respite Club, Youth Club & Young Adult Club

We are particularly mindful of those attending our respite services and the vulnerable young people that can be present at these clubs.  As a consequence of this, we are now asking any young people/adults who exhibit symptoms of a cold or fever, not to attend our respite services until they have recovered.  By a cold we mean symptoms such as persistent coughing or sneezing across the day or a runny nose or eyes.  Symptoms of fever are a high temperature, shivering, shakes, chills, aching muscles/joints, excessive sweating, headache and generally feeling unwell.

In line with this, we will be relaxing our existing policy on refunds for sessions missed/cancelled at our Saturday and Holiday Respite Clubs.  Until further notice, all member cancellations will be offered a full refund regardless of when the cancellation is made.

We are also ensuring that any support staff exhibiting these symptoms are not permitted to work at the sessions.  We are planning to allocate additional sessional FUN staff at each of our respite services to ensure that staff absences due to sickness can be accommodated, and to allow greater flexibility to enable our staff to follow government hygiene guidelines about regular handwashing.

Easter Holiday Club

At present our Easter Holiday Club is being planned as normal for 6th, 7th, 9th, 14th, 16th and 17th April 2020.   We are carefully reviewing our plans for the club to see how we might be able to reduce risk and enable good hygiene as much as is possible.

We are keeping a close watch on the developing spread of Covid-19 and on government guidance, and we will keep all our members updated about any possible changes to our services over the coming weeks and months.

Many Thanks
