Christmas Family Holiday Club – December 2021

Dear Members,

As I am sure you are all aware, there is some concern about the new omicron variant of the Covid virus and some uncertainty at present as to what this could mean for us all this winter.

Currently we are still intending to run all of our Christmas activities as planned, including our Christmas Holiday Club. Please see our Holiday Club brochure with all of the details.  However, please do keep an eye on our website, facebook page and emails in case any changes to government guidance require us to make adjustments to our Christmas plans.

Our Christmas Holiday Club sessions will be running on the following four days:

Monday 20th December 2021 – 10am to 4pm

Wednesday 22nd December 2021 – 10am to 4pm

Wednesday 29th December 2021 – 10am to 4pm

Friday 31st December 2021 – 10am to 4pm

Due to the current uncertainty with Covid, and to ensure that our Holiday Club sessions are not too overcrowded, we will be temporarily re-introducing our booking system for these sessions.  Each session will accommodate up to 40 children plus their parents/carers, and families will be limited to booking two of the four Holiday Club sessions in the first instance.  Where families would like more sessions, we will make a note of this and offer out additional places nearer Christmas where we have capacity.

Bookings for our Holiday Club sessions will open on Monday 13th December at 10am.  You can book your places via the booking page on our website and via a link that will be posted on our facebook page.  Alternatively, you can contact the office to book on 01582 420800 .

We also have some very positive news to share with you about our Christmas Holiday Clubs.  F.U.N. has been able to secure some additional funding that is allowing us to offer all four of our Christmas Holiday Club sessions to all of our members FREE of charge this year.  This means that we will be suspending all entry fees at all four of our Holiday Club sessions in December, so there will be no need to make payment when you book your places.  However, as mentioned, booking will be restricted to just two sessions per family to allow as many families as possible to benefit from the places available.

In addition, every child attending each Holiday Club session will be offered a FREE hot lunch whilst they are at the club.   Our Coffee Shop will also be running as normal for you to purchase any other snacks or food that you wish.  Please also note that from December we will be introducing a wider selection of healthy snacks and we will be saying goodbye to some of our higher calorie crisps and also our sweets and chocolate bars.  You are of course still welcome to bring your own snacks to the Club if you wish. 

We will be continuing with our requirement for all adults attending our Holiday Club to show proof of vaccination (two doses), an NHS Covid Pass or an email confirming a negative lateral flow test within the proceeding 48 hours.  This is not required for anyone under the age of 18.   Because of the current uncertainties with the new omicron variant, we will also be asking all parents and carers to wear a face covering whilst moving around the building.

We would remind and encourage all of our members to continue to test regularly at home and not to attend our Clubs if you have tested positive for Covid or are required to self-isolate according to the latest government guidance.

We are looking forward to seeing many of you at our Holiday Club over the Christmas period.
