Summer Holiday Club/NHS Covid Pass Information

Dear FUN Members

As previously announced, and following the removal of restrictions from 19th July 2021, our family Holiday Club with be returning to a drop-in service from 3rd August 2021.  Bookings for this club will no longer be required and members are able to pay for their children’s places either on the door when they arrive with cash or cheque, or in advance via our website.

However, we are also mindful that Covid19 cases are still rising across the UK.  In order to ensure the maximum degree of safety for both our members and our staff team, we will be requiring all adults parents and carers attending the Holiday Club to have an NHS Covid Pass.  We already have this requirement for our support staff and are now extending it to our members as well.

Information on how to obtain an NHS Covid Pass are given below.  Young people under the age of 18 will not be required to show a Covid Pass in order to access the club.

What is an NHS Covid Pass?

An NHS Covid Pass shows your Covid19 vaccination details and/or any Covid19 test results that you have had.  A Covid Pass is issued if any one of the following applies to you:

  1. You are fully vaccinated for Covid19, with your second dose having been administered more than two weeks ago
  2. You have had a negative PCR test result within the last 48 hours
  3. You have had a negative Lateral Flow test result within the last 48 hours, and this has been reported via the NHS App or Gov.uk website
  4. You have had a positive PCR test result within the last 6 months, and you have now finished self-isolating (i.e. you are assumed to have built up natural antibodies to the virus)

How do I get an NHS Covid Pass?

There are different ways to get an NHS Covid Pass:

You can get a digital version using the NHS App https://www.nhs.uk/nhs-app/  or using the online NHS Covid Pass service https://covid-status.service.nhsx.nhs.uk/.  You will be asked to create an NHS login if you do not already have one.  This will then allow you to have digital access to your vaccination record and any PCR and Lateral Flow test results.

If you do not wish to use these digital options, you can also request a NHS Covid Pass letter to be sent to you in the post.  This letter will show your vaccination details, but does not show Covid19 test results.  You can ask for this letter from two weeks after your second vaccination dose, and it should arrive within 5 working days from the date you request it.  This letter will then be your Covid Pass and you can show this when you arrive at Holiday Club.    If you would like to request a Covid Pass letter you can do so here https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/covid-pass/get-your-covid-pass-letter/

When will I have to show my NHS Covid Pass at FUN?

All adults parents and carers will be asked to show their NHS Covid Pass when you arrive for a Holiday Club session in order to gain access to the club.  You can show this using your smart phone using either the NHS App or the online NHS Covid Pass service, or you can show us your NHS Covid Pass letter.

If you are happy for us to take a copy of your NHS Covid Pass letter to hold on your membership file, you will not then be required to show this again at future sessions.  Please note that your vaccination information will be kept secure and will never be shared with any other organisation or individual.

If I am not yet vaccinated, can I still come to the Holiday Club?

If you are not yet vaccinated you can still access the Holiday Club.  You will need to show that one of the other Covid19 test criteria (shown above) applies to you by using the NHS App or the online NHS Covid Pass service.  Please note the anyone aged under 18 does NOT need to provide any kind of Covid Pass in order to access the Club.

Why is FUN requiring an NHS Covid Pass for all adults parents and carers attending Holiday Club?

Parents and carers have told us that having the Holiday Club as a drop-in service is beneficial for their family, allowing them the flexibility to access the club at a time that is best for them.  As Covid19 cases are still rising across the country we also need to ensure that both our members and our staff can have confidence that the Holiday Club is as safe as we can make it for everyone – to allow as many families as possible to feel able to attend and benefit from the support on offer.

Please be aware that parents/carers may be required to wear a mask whilst moving around our building.

Many thanks & Kind regards

The FUN Team
