We would like to give all members an update following the meeting on Monday evening of the Board of Trustees.
With the current lockdown in place until 18th February 2021 the Trustees have decided that onsite FUN Services will remain closed until the 18th February 2021 at which point a review meeting will take place to decide when services can resume. Therefore, we will be providing the membership with an update during the February half-term week on plans going forward for onsite services.
As this decision has now be made, it is with regret that we would like to inform members that there will not be an onsite Holiday Club offered during the February half-term week. We will instead be sending out Activity Packs to members during this week. These packs can be sent for all age ranges and abilities. If your child or young person would like a pack, please request this by completing a short survey where your address details will be taken so a pack can be sent to you. To access the survey please click this link https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/G3HKBT8 . Please note the deadline for requesting an Activity Pack is the 31st January 2021. Packs are primarily sent for children/young people with SEND but additional resources can be included for siblings, and you can request this at the end of the survey. There will be no charge made for these packs.
Our Online Youth and Young Adult Clubs will continue to run throughout February and will still be offered to all members FREE of charge. Details below:
Youth Club will run on Monday evening from 6-30pm-8pm on Zoom for all members aged 11-17 years. Sabba our Youth Club Co-ordinator will be hosting the sessions and they will consist of cooking, craft activities and games/quizzes. A resource pack will be sent to all those wishing to join the session and will include everything needed for the session. If you would like your child to participate in the online sessions please can you click the link https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/P9SJX26 and submit the details required so a resource pack can be sent/delivered to your home address.
Young Adult Club will run on Tuesday evening from 6-30pm-8pm on Zoom for all Young Adult Club members aged 18-40 years. Harry our Young Adult Club Co-ordinator will be hosting the sessions and they will consist of cooking, craft activities and games/quizzes. A resource pack will be sent to all those wishing to join the session and will include everything needed for the session. If you would like your Young Adult to participate in the online sessions please can you click the link https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/PDJXYJ5 and submit the details required so a resource pack can be sent/delivered to your home address.
Both the online Youth and Young Adult clubs are open to all members within the age ranges mentioned, and you are not required to have attended these clubs previously to join the online sessions. We do recommend that participants are able to take part in the sessions independently but welcome support from parent/carers if required. This will also apply to cooking activities where access to an oven will be required and should be supervised. Please note you must register to access the club before the deadline dates which can be found here – Youth Club / Young Adult Club .
Whilst we will continue to plan for the return of our Respite Services, because of the continuing uncertainty with the pandemic, our March club dates will not now be opened for booking until 19th February 2021. However, please note that this date is subject to change as a review of the current situation will take place earlier that week. Rest assured that we will send out reminders of any new booking dates as they are confirmed. Please check our emails and our website for regular updates www.familiesunitednetwork.org.uk
Please also be aware that during this time we will have reduced staff working in the office and our phone lines will now only be manned from 10am – 3pm Monday, Wednesday and Friday. We are encouraging our members to contact us via email wherever possible during this time: email@example.com
Whilst we are very disappointed to have to take this decision, we are also very concerned that there still does not appear to be a decline in case numbers and we have to ensure that we keep the safety of both our members and our staff as our priority.
We are very aware of the impact that suspending our services has on our members, and we remain determined to reinstate our services as soon as possible once local case numbers are reduced sufficiently.
Kind Regards and stay safe
