The staff and trustees of FUN hope that your family is well and that you are all keeping safe.
We are very aware that things are likely to become more challenging and stressful for our members as the lockdown continues. Although it is difficult, please try to continue to follow the government guidelines and to stay at home as much as possible. Perhaps an apt quote for this is to remember ‘You are not stuck at home, You are SAFE at home.’
Our members are at the forefront of our minds during this crisis. We fully understand that it can be more difficult for families raising a child or young person with additional needs to follow the government guidance to stay at home, but we would encourage you wherever possible to do so. We are here to try and support you in any way that we can. We are currently working on ways to try and help our members while we are unable to provide our usual services.
Please see the new updates to our website at www.familiesunitednetwork.org.uk. We have added a Coronavirus page where you can find up-to-date information relating to the crisis. We have a dedicated section for children and young people to access – providing links to easy read and visual resources to help them better understand what is happening, and also offering activities to keep them busy.
We will also be posting information on our website about new government legislation and useful links to other organisations that are providing support. Our website will be updated regularly, so please take a look when you can.
As an organisation, we are anxious to try and do more to help, and we are keeping a close eye on developments to see if at any stage we can begin to re-introduce FUN services. To help us to do this we need help from our members. To help us fully understand how the crisis is affecting you and your family, we have compiled a short member survey. This survey will enable us to gather important data to inform any decisions that FUN makes about re-starting its services in the short or medium term. Please take a few minutes to complete the survey by clicking this link https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/6TSS58S.
We are currently preparing Activity packs for your children and young people who have additional needs and disabilities. Once you have completed the survey, please send your child’s name and address to firstname.lastname@example.org and we will get one sent out to you.
As promised in our previous email, FUN will be providing an official update following our next Trustee Meeting on the 20th April 2020, so please do check your emails then.
Our thoughts are with you all,
FUN Staff & Trustees
