Trustee

F.U.N are looking for new Trustees to join our Board to help influence the direction and strategy of the Charity.  If you would like to be involved in helping to shape the services and support that F.U.N. offers, please consider joining our Board of Trustees and committing a few hours each month to help support the Charity and the important work that we do.   More information about the role of our Trustees can be found here.

Sessional Support Workers 

APPLICATIONS ARE CURRENTLY ON HOLD FOR THIS JOB ROLE

FUN are looking for Sessional Support Workers to assist disabled children and young people at our clubs and activities on Saturdays during term time and during school holidays.
All FUN Clubs run from:  Unit 5, Britannia Estate, Leagrave Road, Luton, Beds, LU3 1RJ

Are you the right person for the job?

Do you have:

  • Personal or professional experience in interacting with children & young people with additional needs and disabilities
  • A strong desire and commitment in promoting disabled children & young people’s individual needs, skills, abilities
  • Must be proactive and be able to participate in activities alongside the young person such as swimming, bowling, music etc.
  • Must be committed, punctual & reliable
  • Must be enthusiastic and approachable and a good team player

Some applicants may be required to volunteer (depending on previous experience) before moving into a paid role

Volunteer Support Workers (Holiday club – school holidays)

FUN are looking for Volunteer Support Workers to assist disabled children and young people at our holiday club during school holidays.
All FUN Clubs run from:  Unit 5, Britannia Estate, Leagrave Road, Luton, Beds, LU3 1RJ

Are you the right person for the job?

No experience is necessary as full training will be given, however you should have:

  • A strong desire and commitment in promoting disabled children & young people’s individual needs, skills, abilities
  • Must be proactive and be able to participate in activities alongside the young person
  • Be committed, punctual & reliable
  • Must be enthusiastic and approachable and a good team player

Volunteer Minibus Drivers

FUN are looking to recruit  Minibus drivers to drive the charities minibus and passengers on outings and events. Usually Saturdays and one day during the school holidays.  (drivers must be aged 25 years and over).

Duties to include (but not limited to):

  • Driving the FUN Minibus
  • Completing Damage Report sheet before and after each session
  • Responsible for the safety, comfort and welfare of all passengers which include service users and staff
  • Be responsible for the cleanliness of vehicles, inside and out and ensuring the vehicle is in a clean and roadworthy condition before and after use.
  • Maintain accurate records of vehicle miles
  • Report any vehicle defects, faults, incidents and accidents in the log book and to the Service Manager

Are you?:

  • Age 25+ (for insurance purposes).
  • A current, clean and valid driving licence holder (D1 unrestricted or a PCV licence, D1 restricted)
  • Pleasant, approachable, patient and honest
  • Reliable and trustworthy
  • Able to work using your own initiative and as part of a team.

Volunteer Coffee Shop Assistants

FUN are looking for Coffee Shop Assistants to work in our Coffee Shop during school holidays only.  Working hours will be 9.30am to 3.30pm – 2 to 3 days per week.

Duties to include:

  • preparing & serving hot and cold food
  • making and serving snacks and refreshments
  • serving customers, cash handling & clearing up

Are you the right person for the job?

Are you:

  • Available to work 2 to 3 days per week in the school holidays?
  • Able to be committed, punctual and reliable?
  • Enthusiastic and approachable and a good team player?
