Adult Services Assistant

FUN are looking for an enthusiastic and lively Adult Services Assistant for our new program of Adult Service Skills Workshops
Running on a Thursday 9am to 3.30pm Term-Time (6.5 Hours)

Are you the right person for the job?
Do you have:

  • Professional experience in interacting/teaching adults with additional needs and disabilities
  • A strong desire and commitment in promoting disabled adults individual needs, skills, abilities
  • Must be proactive and be able to participate in activities alongside the adult on-site and in the community
  • Be committed, punctual & reliable
  • Must be enthusiastic and approachable and a good team player

Community and Corporate Fundraiser

FUN are seeking a Community and Corporate Fundraiser to raise the profile of the Charity and organise Fundraising Events.

Experience Required -:
* Fundraising
* Developing relationships with Corporate and Community Partners
* Running Community and Corporate Events
* Presenting and Networking within the Local Community
* Working within a Charitable environment, preferably for Children with Special Needs and Disabilities

Skills Required-:
* Good attention to detail and ability to plan and prioritise own workload with minimal supervision.
*Excellent communication and presentation skills required.

Hours – 20 hours per week, flexible to meet the needs of the role.
Based at our Offices in Britannia Estate, Leagrave Road , Luton – with the flexibility to attend events and conferences outside of Luton.
Driving License and car are essential.
Salary – dependant on age and experience.

Trustee

Families United Network are recruiting new trustees including a secretary to join the Board.  FUN are looking for people who can commit to 3-4 hours a month to attend evening board meetings to assist with the development of the Charity and it’s services.  Being a Trustee of FUN is a rewarding role (Role of a Trustee) and a vital one so if you would like more information then please do get in touch by either calling 01582 420800 or contact us.

Sessional Support Workers

FUN are looking for Sessional Support Workers to assist disabled children and young people at our clubs and activities on Saturdays during term time and during school holidays.
All FUN Clubs run from:  Unit 5, Britannia Estate, Leagrave Road, Luton, Beds, LU3 1RJ

Are you the right person for the job?

Do you have:

  • Personal or professional experience in interacting with children & young people with additional needs and disabilities
  • A strong desire and commitment in promoting disabled children & young people’s individual needs, skills, abilities
  • Must be proactive and be able to participate in activities alongside the young person such as swimming, bowling, music etc
  • Must be committed, punctual & reliable
  • Must be enthusiastic and approachable and a good team player

All successful applicants will initially be required to volunteer for up to eight sessions (depending on previous experience) before moving into a paid role

Volunteer Support Workers

FUN are looking for Volunteer Support Workers to assist disabled children and young people at our clubs and activities on Saturdays during term time and during school holidays.

No experience is necessary as full training will be given, however you should have:

Minibus Drivers

FUN are looking to recruit  Minibus drivers to drive the charities minibus and passengers on outings and events. Pay dependant on age and experience (drivers must be aged 25 years and over).

Duties to include (but not limited to):

  • Driving the FUN vehicles (adaptable and non adaptable)
  • Completing Damage Report sheet before and after each session
  • Responsible for the safety, comfort and welfare of all passengers which include service users and staff
  • Be responsible for the cleanliness of vehicles, inside and out and ensuring the vehicle is in a clean and roadworthy condition before and after use.
  • Maintain accurate records of vehicle miles
  • Report any vehicle defects, faults, incidents and accidents in the log book and to the Service Manager

Are you?:

  • Age 25+ (for insurance purposes).
  • A current, clean and valid driving licence holder (D1 unrestricted or a PCV licence, D1 restricted)
  • Pleasant, approachable, patient and honest
  • Reliable and trustworthy
  • Able to work using your own initiative and as part of a team.

Coffee Shop Assistants

FUN are looking for Coffee Shop Assistants to work in our Coffee Shop during school holidays only.  Working hours will be 9.30am to 3.30pm – 2 to 3 days per week.  Pay will be depending on age and experience.

Duties to include:

  • preparing & serving hot and cold food
  • making and serving snacks and refreshments
  • serving customers, cash handling & clearing up
